Getting Out the Vote Ahead of the New York City Elections

In the month of June, KAAGNY and its partners in the Korean American community conducted a campaign to raise awareness of and get out the vote for the New York City Elections, which took place on June 22.

Marching in various locations in Queens, community leaders encouraged eligible voters to participate in the Election with slogans like "Every Vote Counts" and "Voting is Our Power." Participants also distributed in-language pamphlets on how to register to vote and how to use ranked choice voting, which was implemented in NYC Elections for the first time.

KAAGNY was joined by the Korean American Association of Queens (KAAQ), Korean American Civic Empowerment (KACE), Korean Community Services of Metropolitan New York (KCS), MinKwon Center, the Korean American Family Services Center, Queens YWCA, and others.
